Zion National Park

I think we saved the best til last. Zion is really pretty with it's towering orange sandstone pillars and canyons. We took a trail called The Narrows where you wade through the river as the canyon, well, narrows. Luke was great and we all had a fun time in the warm water with squelchy boots. Next time remind me to bring a rubber boat!
The weather has been hot and dry. Luke and I had a pool and shopping day today with ice cream sundaes, John however! He decided he would take on the most strenuous trail in the park- Angel's Landing, where 6 fatalities have occured in the last 10 years. He said it was one of the hardest and terrifying things he has ever done, at midday, in the heat, climbing up almost vertical rock faces on narrow sloping paths and shimmying around rocks holding onto ropes with sudden death below. I don't think he knew what he was in for until it was too late to turn back! He survived but now we have an injured ankle, to what extent we do not yet know!
On another note, the food here is great! Querky cafes and posh steakhouses. Love it. Would come again. Last stop, Las Vegas for 4th July celebrations!
