Vancouver

Today we took a nice easy trip from Seattle to Vancouver via a coastal road called Chuckanut Drive.  We crossed the Canadian border with few questions asked. Vancouver really has a very unique skyline as you approach it, it's charming. The skyscrapers are all glass, modern, and everything is clean and sparkly. The city is surrounded by sea and mountains.

My first impression is that the people are lovely, friendly and intelligent. Our hotel manager seemed to know everything about England, even Glossop, and told us a shop where we could buy Yorkshire Tea!

We went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park first, on a free shuttle. I  definitely wasn't scared of heights until I came here! Cliffside walks and wobbly suspension bridges crossing a huge woodland valley with rivers and waterfalls, treetop walks and nature trails. Live music, Canadian burgers, a shop selling more things made out of maple syrup than you could think possible. Luke loved being up high and running along see-through floored platforms but my head was spinning!! It was like something out of Indiana Jones.

Dinner in a family restaurant called The White Spot made everybody happy with awesome milkshakes and a kid's meal served in a giant cardboard pirate ship.

Our city suite (right above a Starbucks and a dominos) is lovely, Luke has a sofa bed, or as he calls it, a "robot bed". Tomorrow we are hiring bikes and exploring Stanley Park.
