Pheonix Day 10

Another beautiful place. Scottsdale is so neat, tidy and well presented unlike the busier cities we have visited. This truly is cactus land, they are everywhere. Luke refuses to believe that "Cacti" is the plural of cactus. He is like, "No mummy you silly billy it's CAC-TUS-ES". Edit: after googling it Luke was right after all.

I insisted that we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts on the way and got a box of half a dozen. YUM! Luke got one with sprinkles of course.

The Doubletree resort at Scottsdale has the most stylish room we have been in so far and a really good pool too. We explored the city to find some snacks and found a "Trader Joes" which we decided would be our supermarket of choice if we lived here. Funky signage, an interesting selection of foods with plenty of homemade and local organic produce, unlike Walmart which is just like a massive Tesco Extra. We bought some fresh strawberry lemonade. I couldn't believe how cheap blueberries were. $6 for 1kg! Luke said "Wow! Look at all thoses big fat boobewwies!"

At night we sat on the balcony and watched thunderstorms in the distance which had been going on all day.

Now we are on the road again to Sedona and then The Grand Canyon! Our last stops before Las Vegas. A nice scenic drive.
