Las Vegas Day 1

Luke stayed awake for a solid 20 hours before crashing in the hire car (a Chevrolet of some sort). He didn't even see our glamorous Bellagio hotel until 4am US time the next morning when he woke up very confused, but excited looking out of the window at the lit up buildings.

We didn't stay awake long enough to see the 4th July fireworks, but they certainly woke us up; we thought a building was being demolished. Our room was very posh with 2queen sized beds, marble bathroom and fantastic views over the 5 swimming pools!

We ventured out onto the warm streets in search of breakfast at 5:30am, to be met by many drunken stragglers from the night before, "are you up very early or very late, I can't decide?!". We had french toast and stacks of pancakes with jugs of maple syrup for breakfast. Yum.

Luke and John went for a swim in a pool with a massive fountain in it whilst I attempted to get some kind of tan. After that, we visited Ceasars Palace and found some impressive shopping malls, which were only better than the Trafford centre because of the spiral escalators.

Now for our first road trip... to Death Valley, aka the hottest place on earth!
